Apply for Insurance with eApps

Electronic or non-face-to-face applications for life and critical illness insurance coverage.

Insurance is evolving. This includes how you apply to get protection with life, critical illness, or disability coverage:

“e-Apps”, electronic or virtual applications, online applications, and non-face-to-face are all ways to describe this type of application.

DICKSON INSURANCE offers these applications through most major insurance companies.

FAQs
Are electronic insurance applications secure?

YES! All applications are completed through secure servers that meet Canadian security and compliance regulations. Your information is protected every step of the way.

How much time take to apply for insurance?

Less than you think! Your insurance broker will help gather the information you need ahead of time to streamline the process and ensure you understand the coverage and benefits. The application itself is quick.

How long does it take to find out if my insurance application is approved?

Instant, or same-day notification is available through select insurance providers. If timing is important for you, your insurance broker can recommend companies that have faster processing times, and/or arrange for temporary insurance protection until your final policy is in place.

Can I get the same insurance coverage as a traditional, paper application?

YES! The same insurance policies are available to specific amounts.

For example, you can apply for up to $1,000,000 of life insurance coverage through companies such as RBC (Royal Bank), BMO, CanadeLife, ivari, Manulife (and more!) through an electronic application without requiring an in-personal medical follow-up. All questions can be completed online with your broker, or directly to the company you are applying to.

Do I have to answer health questions to apply for life insurance?

Maybe. Depending on the amount of coverage you want, some applications have medical history information.

What if I don’t want to answer health questions?

That’s fine. If you do not want to answer medical questions as part of your life insurance application, there are specific insurance products that may be suitable (i.e. based on age and the amount of coverage desired). This is sometimes called a “guaranteed issue” and is only available through specific companies (but we can help you with that).

Do I save more money if I answer health questions?

Very likely. If you are able to answer medical history questions, you can apply to up to $1,000,000 online without an in-personal medical appointment.

Can I apply for life insurance faster online?

YES! E-Apps are processed faster than traditional paper applications.

Do I still get a printed copy of my insurance policy?

YES (if you want to). You can choose to have a printed copy delivered to your address or opt for an electronic version.
